Write for us
We welcome clear, original pitches that help readers understand local public information, shared places, community services or civic processes. A useful contribution explains a specific idea without assuming readers already know the terminology.
What we welcome
Propose an explanatory piece, a comparison of civic concepts, a thoughtful account of how a public document works, or an accessible exploration of shared community life. Strong pitches have a distinct subject, a clear reader benefit and a scope that can be handled without unsupported claims or specialist advice.
What to include
Tell us the working title, central question, main points you would cover and why the subject suits Fresh Civic Report. Note any relevant sources or material you would draw on, disclose any personal or professional interest in the subject, and say whether the piece has been offered elsewhere.
How to send a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then identify your message as a pitch. Please send a proposal rather than a completed unsolicited article. We cannot promise a response time or publication.
