Editorial policy
Fresh Civic Report aims to make local public information understandable without overstating what a document or process can show. Our editorial choices are guided by accuracy, clarity and a visible distinction between editorial work and paid collaboration.
Accuracy and clarity
We check names of general concepts, definitions and explanations against material appropriate to the subject before publication. We take care to distinguish proposals from decisions, examples from universal rules, and an explanation from a recommendation. When details vary by place or circumstance, we say so rather than implying one answer fits everywhere.
Independence
Editorial decisions remain separate from partnership discussions. A collaboration does not guarantee coverage, favourable treatment or a change to an editorial conclusion. We do not present a partner's claims as independent editorial findings.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. Please identify the article and the relevant passage, and explain what may be wrong. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making the nature of a meaningful correction clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner material is identified clearly as such and kept distinct from independent editorial content. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that applies, the illustration is labelled. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims.
